How Can Tinnitus With Ear Pressure And Muffling Be Treated?
Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I have been having problem with my right ear. Constant hummI have been having problem with my right ear. Constant humming, hearing is muffled, feels like fullness or pressure in my ear. I have tried ear irrigation and popping my ear, which the constant attempt to pop my ear is starting to hurt my head. Left ear is fine. At times when I plug my nose and blow out, it seems like my right ear opens up and my hearing is better, yet when I let go of my nose and release, I am right back to square one.

Hi,
Humming sound in ear, fullness, changes on Valsalva which you should not have done cause all the symptoms by transferring the air and fluid from nose to the middle ear. I would advise you the following in such a situation:
- Stop blowing the nose
- Do not instill anything in ears, no irrigation at all as this would enhance fungal growth.
Consult nearby ENT Surgeon who would do ENT Endoscopy to know the exact cause, may ask you for tests of blood and X-rays or CT scan of mastoids and nose with sinuses. You will be advise appropriate antibiotic, anti-inflammatory and decongestant medicines as per the findings. May take about 3 weeks.
