How Can Tonsillitis Along With Cough And Wheezing Be Treated?

I have come down with swollen tonsils, cough, weezing from my bronical, no fever unless its a low one. about one week ago.. I ate some popcorn, Orival Redenbacher, x butter.. it was good, very dry, and I at the who package.. after my throat felt like 1000 s of glass cut it.. and it was sore for a day and then I got swollen tonsils. now taking antibiotics.. not sure if its bactorial or virus.. its been a week now and every night I cough so much, and my bronical make such loud sounds I cannot sleep.

Hi Dear ,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of tonsillitis along with cough and wheezing which seems to be due to severe upper respiratory tract infection which gets triggered by certain exaggerating factors leading to tonsillitis. I would suggest you to

- Avoid cold carbonated beverages.
- Do warm saline gargles with pinch of salt water.
- Take cough expectorants.
- Apply mist humidifier in room and take sodium cromoglycate which is effective to prevent infection.
- Take benadryl twice a day .
- Steam inhalation is very effective for you.

Consult ENT specialist once without any delay. Doctor may order blood test , throat swab test and may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin or penicillin at least for 10 days along with decongestants and mucolytic agents. Doctor may also order allergy test .
