How Can Torn Calf Muscles Be Treated?

Probable gastrocnemius muscle damage and not properly healing, no sign of vascular compromise. Doctor will discuss with surgeons. I was bitten by a dog 19 months ago and 3 days in critical care with 50/50 chance of loosing my leg. Pasturella infection. God Saved my leg, a Miracle!, I healed from hematoma, and he bit on the flesh of my calf, right leg, fascia, soft tissue, neuralgia. I walked and I have so much pain, I am on clonidine, and 11 other pills to help my blood pressure. What or how would they repair this muscle and downtime, painful? I had for 12 weeks of aquatic therapy, and dry therapy and the therapist said I had to stop. Therapist said I was not able to continue.....pain is severe.....

Oncologist 's  Response
Hi,

Torn calf muscle can be treated by compression can be gently applied with an ace or another elastic bandage, which can both provide support and decrease swelling. Do not wrap tightly. Elevate the injured area to decrease swelling. Prop up a strained leg muscle while sitting, for example.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
