welcome to HCM.
there are so many methods to avoid
pregnancy by using contraceptives .
1- orally contraceptive pills - these pills are used on regular basis by taking one tab daily and are effective to avoid pregnancy .your wife should opt for this method ,as she is newly married .
2-IUCD ( intrauterine contraceptive devices ) like copper t - these are tiny devices that would be implanted by a nurse in
uterus of your wife to avoid pregnancy .in this method she would not be required to take any pill.
but it is usually recommended after birth of one baby.
3- barrier method -condom used by male commonoly .
diaphragm can be used by women but it is very rare .
4- injectable contraceptives- intramuscular injections of progestins would be given to your wife to avoid pregnancy.
DMPA-only 1 injection150mg every 3 month.
i would suggest you following method .
1- use condom if you are comfortable with it .
2- if you are not willing to use condom ,ask your wife to take
OCP pills regularly.
thankyou and take care.
