How Can Uterine Cancer Be Diagnosed?

I have a family history of uterine cancer. Both of my sisters have had it and have had hysterectomies. I had a biopsy July 2015. It came back negative and no cancer cells found. Due to bleeding and perimenopause I had the mirena put in and it helped. My question is how often should I be checked and have a biopsy.

Hello,

You can go for a yearly followup with an ultrasound.
Biopsy is required only when there’s is bleeding or suspicious lesion in ultrasound.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
