How Can Valley Fever Be Treated?

I had blood drawn for Valley fever twice now, the clinic just called asking me to go in for another blood draw. She said the other two tests were reactive so now they need a third test. What is the doctor exactly waiting on? Shouldn t she start me on medication? I highly doubt the test will change drastically than the other 2 times. Should I just change doctors?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service. I read your query and here is my advice.
The most common way that healthcare providers test for Valley fever is by taking a blood sample and sending it to a laboratory to look for Coccidioides antibodies or antigens.
If your healthcare provider sends a sample to a laboratory to be cultured, the results could take a few days to a couple of weeks.
I don't see reason for repetition.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
