hi, I am 35 years old female unmarried, I am suffering from venous block in my right are from 2007, I am on Acitrom( anti coagulant) but till date I am suffering from the same problem . I have also got superficial venous on my right hand , it looks very shabby, plz plz plz tell me what should I do.
Hi, have you had two separate episodes of Venous blockade or Thrombosis? Have you gotten tests to know whether you have a condition that predisposes you to Thrombosis or clotting. Do you consume oral contraceptive pills? If not, then you dont need to have Acitrom for long term. Superficial veins are the new channels that have opened up to drain blood from the limb since the deeper vein is blocked and nothing can be done to make them go as they are helping in draining venous blood out of the limb. I usually prescribe my patients Aspirin 75mg after completion of six months of Acitrom therapy as there are more chances of bleeding with Acitrom with no proven benefit beyond 6 months after a single episode of venous thrombosis. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
