Hello,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

Vitamin B12 is in important vitamin and it is required for health of your nervous system and brain functions including memory and intellectual functions.
Vitamin B12 injections are highly effective and you will show positive results with in few months of treatment.
If your symptoms still persist despite the monthly injection you can check your blood levels of vitamin B12 and can modify the dosage under the evaluation of a physician.
You can have B12 rich food like red meat, liver, sardine, yogurt which supplement your IM injection and fasten your recovery.
Vitamin B12 injections are generally safe and side effects are very minimal.
Hope this information helps.
Regards.
