Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I received feed back from my lab, Sonora Quest-Phoenix, it indicated my vitamin D number was 8.8. My doctor suggested 50,000 units twice a month for the next 3 months (two pills @ month). I have never heard of this, is it a good choice and, are there side problems using. My chief problem is an aortic valve which I take many pills. Thanks.
Hello, Thanks for the query. You can safely take vitD supplements, it won’t worsen your existing cardiac disease and it does not interact with your routine drugs. You may be knowing that vitamin D is produced from sunlight and thus exposure to direct sunlight may help you to fulfill your vitamin D requirements. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
