How Can Vomiting, Post Food And Milk, Be Stopped For A Baby?

Hi Doctor,Greetings! My son is around 18 months old and today morning he had milk cookies as breakfast and after 1hour he vomited for 3 times with less quantity. After 3 hours when I gave DOMSTAl syrup to control or stop the vomits again and feeded him, immediately after 10 minutes again he vomited the milk and the syrup. What should I do now? Please suggest.Regards,

Hello,

The best way to help a child with nausea and vomiting is to give small portions of fluids regularly. Oral rehydration solutions are the best to substitute both water and electrolytes.

If you give one teaspoon of it every 5 minutes the stomach will have time to pass it to the bowel without being overloaded and reduces the nausea. As for domstal syrup, it is not sure about its effect in children and is mostly advised to avoid its use in children.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
