Hello,

If you have pneumonia, then codeine and prednisolone are not indicated because they may aggravate the problem. Blood in sputum may be due to pneumonia or due to bronchitis. Avoid cool drinks and freeze water avoid smoking. Stop codeine syrup which suppresses the cough lead to sputum accumulation in infective pneumonia may aggravate the problem.

Use water vapor inhalation and salt water gargling thrice a day for five days. Use expectorant syrup ascorbyl thrice a day. Use bronchodilator. If symptoms not improved, please consult your doctor he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
