How Can Weakness And Body Pain While Suffering From Chikunguniya Be Treated?

Read- my head is reeling (correction). I have been suffering from chikunguniya for the last 27 days. Although recovering I still have weakness and body pains. Since this morning my head is feeling particularly while getting up from bed. What precautions do I need to take? Will be grateful for your guidance.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Chikungunya is a self limiting viral disease. It causes immune reactions in muscle and joints leading to pain and swelling. In acute stage, such symptoms may be more severe in some causing morbidity.
Gradually, it would get better. It may take about one month to three months for all the symptoms to subside completely.
However, during acute phase, the condition may be partially relieved by taking Paracetamol and Ibuprofen medications.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
