Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was wondering if there are foods or drinks or exercise to increase my white blood cells? I have been thru cancer surgery, chemo and radiation and in remission, my white cells are increasing, but was wondering if there is a way I could help them? Didn t know there would be a charge--never mind. Thank you.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Chemo therapy can significantly reduce the white blood cells in body. Of three is significant decrease you may require drugs like philgrastim which act on your bone marrow cells and stimulate the production of white cells. As of now have healthy diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
