How Contagious Is Gram Positive Bacterial Infection?

My mother has tested positive for Gram Positive Cocci in chains in her jaw? What would be the specific treatment for her. She is 80 years old and in poor health. Also what are the risks to me in exposure to her. I am 56 years old diagnosed with auto-immune cirrhosis and liver cancer. I am waiting for a liver transplant and my MELD score is now 32.
