How Dangerous Is A Swollen Preauricular Lymph Node?

I m 28 and have a swollen pre auricular lymph node in the front of my left ear. It is very sore and is making my ear hurts when I accidentally lay on that side or even yawn. I went to the doctor and she is concerned it may be a cyst that is putting pressure on the nerves. I am beginning to get scared bc she ordered a biopsy and a CT Scan of the soft tissues in front of the ear?

Hello

There is no need to be scared , the swelling can be anything from a cyst to a lymph node and even a salivary gland swelling and needs to be evaluated properly, please follow your doctors advice and go ahead with the scan .
Once the diagnosis is known , you can be treated accordingly.

Take care
