How Dangerous Is Irregular Irregularity?

MY SONS HEART WAS BEATING DIFFERENT THAN WE HAD OBSERVED BEFORE. WE TOOK HIM IN TO DOCTOR AND THEY PUT HIM ON EKG MACHINE. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING AN NO NEED TO WORRY. THAT CALLED IT IRREGULAR IRREGULARITY. WHAT OTHER TESTS IF ANY SHOULD BE DONE? HOW MUCH OF A CONCERN IS THIS?

Hi,

Actually, EKG is a standard test to rule out arrhythmia or irregular heartbeat. Besides this, ECHO and Imaging study can be tried.

If no symptoms are there and it is just your thinking or you are feeling like your son does not have a normal heartbeat then it may not be a valid reason for testing. It has to be detected by a doctor and advised by the doctor themselves to do further testing if an abnormal heartbeat is found.

Hope I have answered your query, let me know for further assistance.
