How Do I Confirm If Adenoids And Tonsils Are Normal Or Not In A Child?
My 5 year old sister was consultant to ent specialist in manglore doctor said that she has adenoid and tonsil so we should do procure we ware not happy with doctor saying then we consultant another ent specialist Dr. Punja he said no need for procure we are confused at the moment
This is a common confusion, especially around this age. A plain X-ray of the skull, a lateral view for adenoids, and a review of the severity of symptoms will help decide. If you can share an image of the X-ray, it will help settle this matter.
Does the child have mouth breathing or snoring at night?
Does she sleep well, is active, and eats properly?
Any visible features of adenoid facies?
Most children will do well with medications and allergy control. Only a few require surgical procedures.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
