How Do I Lower The GGT Liver Enzyme Count?

My GGT liver enzyme is up to 47. it went from 37-47 in 2 weeks. I have experienced a lot of nausea recently and some pains just under my right rib cage on occassions. What can i do about this and how do I lower it? I have started a living cleansing diet to try and detoxify my liver!

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The GGT can be elevated if gall stone or bile canaliculi inflammation present. It's important to know SGPT value to comment further. Kindly mention your SGPT report as well. You can investigate with ultrasonography of abdomen with special emphasis on liver for further work up. You can reduce weight if obese. Take green leafy vegetables and fruits more.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
