Dear Madam, Hi & Welcome.
Both of these are the brands of same combined contraceptive pills which contain the hormones oestrogen and progestogen and thus are 99% effective in preventing an unwanted pregnancy if taken properly.

You seem to be taking 21 active pills of Diane with seven days of "rest" inactive non-hormone pills to allow bleeding.

You can start taking the new pack of Althea from eight day on wards whether you are still bleeding or not. This should be the same day of the week as when you took your first Diane pill.

Remember, if you start taking the Althea pill on the first day of your period (day one of your menstrual cycle) you will be protected from pregnancy straight away. You will not need additional contraception. Otherwise your husband needs to use condom for for at least one week, if you start taking the Althea pills from some other day of your menstrual cycle.

Hope these answer your queries.
