How Do The Birth Control Pills Work?

Hi there, Just a typical birth control question. I took a few of my pills at different times than usual, and it caused my period to come 2 days early. which means that it ended 2 days early, I have unprotected sex the other night, and I start my active pills tomorrow. Should I be taking a plan B pill to cover my butt? or will I be fine? I am not 100% understanding of birth control. Do you ever release an egg? Thank you!

Hi..Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

Birth control pills act by preventing ovulation (release of egg). So release of egg donot take place when you are regularly taking theses pills. These pills should be taken once daily at about same time for 21 days & then stopped. They should be then started at first day of menstrual bleeding.
As you told that you had unprotected sex, so you should take other plan b tablet to prevent pregnancy now.

For further queries consult a gynaecologist

Hoping your query is solved
