You will need to do blood tests and urine tests to detect sugar in them. In case it does show presence of sugar then you wil have the diagnosuis. There are other symptoms also that you might feel like excess thirst, hunger and urination.

u have to do blood sugars fasting and 2 hrs after taking 75mg of glucose.this is oral glucose test
If fasting sugar is more than 126 mg /dl
and PP test more than 200
Then diagnosis of DM is conformed
any sugar fasting of more than 126 and pp of more than 200 is DM
