How Does Metatop Work For Nasal Problems?

Hi Doc, I have a similar problem to the one mentioned here(Nasal problems). I had visited an ENT specialist a week back at Sagar Hospitals, Bangalore. His suggestion was also a similar one..Metatop spray daily two times. Is Metatop used only for cleansing the mucus and dust particles in nose or is it an effective spray to increase the diameter of nosehole?

I am having serious issues with breathing, ending up in sleepless nights as I am having to breathe from mouth as the nose(sometimes both holes) is blocked even when I do not have COLD. During the day, I am able to breathe only 50% percent through my nose and this is taking a toll on my HEALTH. I suggested the doctor the same, but his suggestion was to use Metatop for 3 weeks.

My Question: If Metatop does not help, is there anyway (a surgery perhaps) to increase the size of nosehole. This is impacting my health seriously and as such please advice at the earliest.

1)matatop contains a steroid that acts as an immunomodulator and antiinflammatory agent that decreases nasal stuffiness and secretions,thus clearing nasal passages.
2)the second part depends on how long you have this problem.if it started recently,you need not worry.it can be cleared with drugs.but if it is for long,it may be due to problems like deviated nasal septum or nasal polyps,which need an detailed ENT examination,followed by surgery if needed.meanehile,just note the following....
a)avoid walking/bike ride in cold climat
b)avoid dusty atmosphere as far as poosible
c)always use helmet with front cover on bike
d)make your bed room dust free and avoid direct fan flow on face
e)clean your air conditioner filter regularly.
