General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The use of folic acid is recommended in the first few months of pregnancy at least, as it decreases the chance of certain birth defects in children. Myfol is therefore advised. Its nothing new, its also folic acid but a different form

Regarding the calcium and iron tablets, they may not be needed, but as their requirement, an increase in pregnancy, so we advise it for the better health of the mother.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
