How Does A Salivary Stone Pass Out?

My doctor told me I have a salivary stone & he saw stuff come out of a duct inside my cheek. But I have a bump on the roof of my mouth with a white tip by my uvula that looks like a stone about to pass through but I can t find anywhere online saying it s even possible to come from there, is it something else? Should I expect to pass from somewhere else?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

As per your complain salivary stone can pass through the duct opening of the salivary gland but the opening of the ducts of major salivary glands are present either over the cheek near to upper back teeth and others in the floor of mouth..
So they will be seen flushing out from these areas..

As far as bump on roof of mouth with a white tip can be most probably due to infection in the area leading to formation of an abscess..
While it can also be due to causes like inflamed minor salivary gland, mucous cyst or mucocele, pyogenic granuloma etc..

So I would suggest you to consult a Dentist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like FNAC if needed can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..

As of now do salt water rinses and if there is pain you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine for relief and take a soft diet..

Hope this helps..

Thanks and regards..
