Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Sorry for your loss. Loosing someone is always disheartening and it takes time to recover from it. Few things which might help him are meeting new people, keeping busy in activities which involve both of you, doing activities which he use to enjoy previously. You have to make him understand that everyone around him wants him to be happy so he have to move ahead. If the problem persist then he might benefit from grief therapy.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
