sir my dad has IHD . DONE AMGIOPLASTY TWICE IN 94 AND 2010 HE IS 85 YRS OLD. HE HAS HIGH BP AND MEDICAL RENAL DISEASE HIS ALL BL PARAMETERS ARE NORMAL EXCEPT TODAY HIS K IS 6.3 DR HAS STARTED LASIX . IM WORRIED . WNT TO KNOW AFER HOW MUCH LEVEL OF K ,IT AFFECTS THE HEART. PL TELL ME HE IS TEKING FOLL DRUGS

hello , welcome to health care magic, K STANDS FOR SERUM POTASSIUM LEVEL for which the normal range is 3.5 - 5.1. potassium levels above 5.1 and below 3.5 will affect the efficient functioning of heart. it needs to be maintained within the normal limits. hope this info was useful
