Having had a thyroidectomy can affect a pregnancy if you are not taking your replacement hormone or it is not dosed correctly. Before you get pregnant, it is important that you see your endocrinologist to make sure you medication is dosed correctly. It will also be important for you to see your doctor more frequently during your pregnancy to make sure your thyroid hormone is at the appropriate level. As long as you are taking your medication correctly, pregnancy shouldn't be affected to much.
