How Does Transmission Of Genital Herpes Take Place?

I am wondering about transmission of genital herpes, that appear in the pelvic area above the vagina. I was intimate with an uninfected parter, without intercourse, but with skin contact, and hand to genital contact. I take acyclovir sporadically, and did not have any lesions present. I was however sunburned in the area, which could have masked initial symptoms. A lesion appeared about 36 hours later. My partner is informed, but I am wondering if this potential shedding from non- vaginal lesions could infect my partners bodily skin, such as stomach, thigh, etc? Does this ever occur?

genital herpes is type 2 which remains below the pelvis area. I can not assure you that your partner will get infected or not because there are fair chances that he gets infected but if his immunity is able to fight then he may not get it as lesions. herpes type 2 doesn't spread above the waist area.
