How Early Can Pregnancy Be Confirmed?

I recently stopped taking my birth control in January because my husband and I decided to try to conceive. I had recently had regular periods up until this month. I was so suppose to start my period Saturday April 4; I ended up starting Tuesday morning August 7. I had a fairly normal period but the next day it was very light and by that night it was gone. I spotted some the 3rd day but it wasn t much at all. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Could I be pregnant and it s still early to tell?

It's best to do the home pregnancy test first thing in the morning, when your urine is most concentrated and hCG levels are highest.
So I advice you to perform a test a week after missed period and with morning sample of urine. This test kits are nearly 98% accurate, so reliable.
With transvaginal ultrasonography, the diagnosis of pregnancy can be made earlier by 4-5 weeks gestation
