How Effective Is Plan B When Ovulating?

Hi. I took plan B 12 hours after unprotected sex (also happened to be same day as ovulation). I had absolutely no side effects until 2 weeks later when I got my period (severe constant nausea which I never experience when menstruating). Is this normal to have such a delay in symptoms and menstruation.. Pregnancy is not possible, right? ( I read plan b is not as effective if taken when ovulating?) Thank you

Hello,
Thanks for letting us know your health concern. Emergency contraceptive pill is useful in several ways when used within the stipulated time after an unprotected intercourse. It impairs ascent of sperms by making the vaginal secretions thick and hostile, inhibits ovulation, inhibits implantation and there by is very protective. You need not worry. You cannot be pregnant in the current scenario. Hope this helps.
