How Fast Do Arteries Get Blocked After Bypass Surgery?
I just had a triple bypass 5 weeks ago-of which the doctor said was successful yet I don't feel any better than before the surgery. Can arteries (or artery) block this quickly or ???? I am 69 yrs. old, 5' 9" 165 lbs.no cholesterol, high blood pressure, etc. Otherwise in good health. My doctor said it was genetic. Thank you LSP.
hello, Arteries can get blocked acutely or in a chronic manner. Acute blockages can occur any time and usually patient will have very severe symptoms chest pain, sweating etc and it's a life threatening. Doesn't look like this in you. And chronic blockages occurs over a period of years depends upon the patient profile and genetics of individual patient. Since you don't have much risk factors it will take long time for chronic blockages like may be a decade or more. You should be evaluated for other causes of chest pain like gastritis and reflux disease, pleuritis, or musculoskeletal etc.
