How I Can Confirm The Real Reason Of My Fathers Death?

My father died in August, 2, 2008, at the age of 87. Six years before he had a stroke. The autopsie made in Athens showed death because of a heart-coronarvessel-disease. I am afraid the he was given an overdodis of medicine, as he was taking Prazine, Seropram and other neuroleptika. He is buried since then. How could I find out the real reason of his death?! IIt is difficult to live without knowing... Thank you

Hello! Thank you for asking on HCM! Regarding your concern, judging from his medical history (stroke) and autopsy results seems that your father has suffered from atherosclerosis (that causes stenotic lesions in cerebral and coronary arteries, as well as in other arteries throughout the body). As the autopsy has confirmed coronary vessel problems probably this has been the right cause of his death. Autopsy, if performed within all the legal rules and medical protocols, remains the most reliable examination to find the right diagnosis. Regarding the idea of drug overdoses, it is very difficult (almost impossible) to find after so many years. Nevertheless, what is important to you is to look after your metabolic profile (comprising blood lipid profile) as atherosclerosis is a hereditary risk profile component. Just perform a fasting lipid profile test. If any disorders is revealed, then consult your doctor.
Hope to have been helpful to you. Greetings! Dr. Iliri
