How I Can Take Out The Tampon Which Gone Inside My Vagina

I cannot remember if i took out my tampon or not. after showering i decided to try to "search" for it. I didn't feel a string or anything so thinking it may have gone far into my vagina i reached a little further. i felt a mass but I'm not sure if it was the tampon or not because the texture of it. i wouldn't necessarily call it slimy but it has a mucus feeling and I'm nervous to try to pull it out if it is actually not my tampon... what should i do? is this my tampon?
