Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m 25yrs old and I have irregular periods(once in 3 months) I went with pcod and thyroid test which is normal, after scanning my doc said me I have delayed egg release, what should I do for my normal egg production, and with intake of 5mg of folic acid my periods are getting regularised , how folic acid is related to mensuration(my bmi is normal) please answer?????
Folic acid is an important vitamin which along with iron is required to treat and prevent anemia secondary to abnormal menstrual bleeding. Folic acid does not regulate the menstruation or ovulation. For the production and release of eggs from the ovary your doc would prescribe drugs like clomifene and progesterone.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
