How Is A Pyracantha Thorn Wound On The Skin Best Treated?
What is the best way to treat a pyracantha thorn wound. I get the thorn out, but then the site often becomes like a small crater in my skin encircled by red. I clean them with hydrogen peroxide, soak in a hot bath, have tried Cortaid and Tri-biotic ointment. Nothing seems to help.
Hi. You did not mention duration of the condition. If its less than say 10 days, add an oral antibiotic like oral cephalexin. If its persisting for a long time, i think you should consult a dermatologist. It could be a fungal infection like sporotrichosis and would need histopathology for confirmation. Thanks
