How Is Chlamydia Infection Transmitted?

I recently had sexual intercourse with my ex girlfriend who was given chlamydia by her girlfriend. what are the chances of me getting it as well. Also if I did not ejaculate inside of her is there and benefits to that. If so how long should I wait to be tested if I was given it as well?

Hi,

This is one of the most sexually transmitted disease. The symptoms are usually silent and does not occur till two to three weeks. If you have any discharge or painful urination or itching that means you may be infected too.

Mostly the infection transmits during sexual act, does not matter you had ejaculated or not. So this condition cannot prevent you but it is not always you will have the infection when you have sex with infected one.
The medication like Doxicycline or Azithromycin can be taken after consulting your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
