How Is Narcolepsy Diagnosed?

How is narcoleptsy diagnosed? I have had two episodes in the past three years where I have fell out. one was talking to my wife and I passed out and hit my head hard on the asphalt. I was unconscious for ten mins. I had a concussion from the fall. The next one was 7-14-17. Car wreck. I passed out driving. my wife was hurt pretty badly in the crash. I am scheduled for an EEG 8-1-17. Can this be controlled with meds.? Will I be able to drive again reliably? I have to be able to drive for my job. I do not have diabetes. I had a healthy me check up after the wreck. blood work done, and everything was fine. normal blood pressure. no problems. my family doctor ordered the EEG and said I may be narcoleptic, or be having seizures. I don t know which is better or worst. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

Narcolepsy is diagnosed by two tests namely polysomnogram (PSG) and the multiple sleep latency test (MSLT).

Medicines like Armodafinil may help.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
