How Is Oral Herpes Transmitted?

Hi today I was with my friend who has gotten oral herpes about 4 months ago and she was drinking hot chocolate and the lid had the little drinking hole which I had a sip out of after she had already drank some, I was wondering what my chances are of catching oral herpes?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain Oral Herpes is transmitted if you are exposed to recently used straw or glass of an infected individual who has active eruptions of cold sores..

But in your friend's case if she was having infection 4 months back and if there are no present eruptions then signs of infection transmission are nominal..

But for confirmation you can consult a Physician and get evaluated and he can advise you investigations like antigen antibody reaction, viral culture to rule out that whet
Hope this information helps..
her you are infected or not and will treat you with antiviral medications if there is exposure to virus by advising anti-viral medications..

Hope this helps.

Thanks and regards.
