How Long After Cataract Surgery Can Letters Be Read Up Close?

I had a cataract surgery on my left eye and was under the understanding that I paid and was getting a symphony multi focal lens implanted. I am fine for distance but cant read anything close up How long after surgegy should I be able to read close up?

Hi and welcome to HCM,
You have not mentioned how long ago you had the surgery.
If you are reading clearly for distance, then you should be able to read for near as well, if a multi focal IOL has been put in your eye. In cases where a multi focal iol has been put in one eye only, then it may take a while for the eyes to coordinate and settle down.
