How Long After Delayed Periods Can Pregnancy Test Be Taken?

Hello, i think i may be pregnant and need to know how i should check. I got my last period on May 20th 2015 and it lasted 7 days. I have a 31 day cycle and ovulated on the 6th of june. My period was supposed to start the 20th of this month and now its two days late for this month, and i tested once on the 16th and it said negative, could it have been to early to test? and should i take another one?

I really appreciate your concern, chances of conception is very less likely still better to get done the sonography test because this is the only accurate test for to clear the doubt hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
