How Long After Having Late Periods Can I Take A Pregnancy Test?

Hi i was expecting my period this past weekend and i still have not gotten it. For the past two weeks ive been feeling cramps, headaches, back pains. I had an alcoholic drink last week and threw up about 10 minutes later and ive been feeling nausea ever since. I took three hpt and they were all negative. My breasts dont feel sore at all. Could i be pregnant?

OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Delayed periods can be due to pregnancy or hormonal disturbances like hypothyroidism, or due to excessive stress or physical exercise. However, sometimes the ovulation is delayed and hence the conception is delayed. In this case, the urine pregnancy test comes positive a bit delayed.
I would suggest you to repeat a urine pregnancy test after one week, and if still negative, then you should consult an OBGYN specialist to get properly examined, investigated including hormonal profile and ultrasound and get appropriate treatment.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
