How Long After Having Late Periods Can I Take A Pregnancy Test?

I am 6 days late I finally got my period July 27th since October 2015.I was supposed to renew my birth control last September 2015 but didn't. I haven't got my period for August and I had unprotected sex. I'm not on any birth control. Could I be pregnant?

HI,
I understand your query & concern.
Being not on birth control any lady, (with normal menstrual cycle & her husband having normal semen counts.) in fertile age can conceive with an unprotected sex.
You can test for pregnancy by Blood HCG testing around expected day of periods OR urine pregnancy test after 8 days delay in menstruation. Or USG scan at 5 weeks pregnancy.
Thanks.
