How Long After Tonsils Removal Is It Advisably Safe To Kiss My Partner?

Hi, ive had my tonsils removed and on the 6th day of recovery, throat still hurts a lot, on painkillers, runny nose. I want to kiss my gf and wonder how many days i should wait, we live in the same house and when shes close to me she has a mask on. Her brother was sick but she hasnt seen him in a week or so.

Otolaryngologist / ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

The wound at the site tonsillectomy will usually heal in 7 to 10 days. But you may find some white spots at the site which will usually take 3 to 4 weeks to disappear. Kissing can be done after 7 to 10 days depending on how much symptom free you are. Safe kissing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
