How Long After Weaning From Warfarin Will Bleeding During Urination Stop?

I have been told by doctors that blood in the urine will slow down as I have now stopped taking warfarin and my INR will decrease from 4.7 For the last 24hrs every time I urinate it is very red. Should I still be concerned or wait another 24hrs to see lees blood.

Hi Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Warfarin is anticoagulant & prevents formation of blood clots in the blood vessels and elsewhere in the body.
Warfarin inhibits the synthesis of vitamin k dependent biologically active forms of the clotting factors. Reversal of warfarin's effect by discontinuing its use, can take 2-4 days, which is the time to synthesize those factors naturally.
However in case of emergency, the effects of warfarin can be reversed with vitamin K with prothrombin complex concentrate or fresh frozen plasma in addition to intravenous vitamin K.

So if problem persist visit your doctor
Don't worry you would be fine
Hoping your query is solved.
