How Long After Withdrawal From BC Pills Will Bleeding Resume?

Hi there , I ve been on my birth control since August 3rd but just stopped it on Monday because of bad side effects. When I come on my period in a few days will I bleed again in the month of September? My normal period starts between the 3rd and 5th of every month so I feel as though I stopped my medicine right on time.

Hello,

After about 3 to 5 days of discontinuation of BC pills, there is withdrawal bleeding due to de-escalation of hormone levels. Probably, your withdrawal bleed would overlap with the time of your menses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
