How Long Before Drinking Harms The Liver Or Body?

Hi.My stepdad is turing 60 in Dec.He is drinkin about a bottel of wisky with water a day and a grandpa a day sometimes two plus he has high blood presure witch he drinks his medication for.He has lots some wight the last coupel of moths due to not eating regulary.I whant to now how long can he go on like this before dameging his liver or body.He goes for some walks with the dogs.

It's incredibly variable. Many people don't get cirrhosis from alcohol. Certainly pancratic injury often occurs after a single large binge. The best predictor is a pattern over time. So, if someone has been drinking at a constant rate for > 10 yr and zero consequences, the rate of decline is going to be SLOW or not observable (not significant). Liver enzyme tests can show if damage is occurring.
