How Long Do Internal Hemorrhoid Removal And Fissure Surgery Take To Heal Completely?

Had an internal hemmoroid removed and fissure surgery 6 weeks ago. The healing process has been slow. The inside of the rectum feels like its healed for the most part. The outside of the anus is VERY SORE and basically there has been zero improvement despite all the prescription creams, ointments, stool softeners and sutz baths. Im in complete fear that my bottom will NEVER be normal and painless.

Hi,

As a physician I would like to ell you that healing after surgery depends on various factors like extend of wound, condition of patient, age of patient, any other existing medical condition like diabetes, and hypertension.

Thus, I would like to tell you that since you have said that your wound is healed from inside, it is a good sign and that you are professing satisfactorily. Keep taking your medications and baths regularly. It usually take 2 to 3 months to get better fully.

Hope this will help you. Feel free to ask any further question.

Regards,
Dr. Abhijeet
