How Long Do Spasms In Case Of Esophageal Spasms Last?

I have been diagnosed with Esophageal Spasms (Nutcracker) however, from those I have talked to with spasms and from information I have read most people's spasms are very short. I have spasams that are a few seconds long somtimes, but the ones that wake me in the night can last up to an hour and those always come with INTENSE residual pain for at least the entire day following. Is that uncommon? Could I even be misdiagnosed? I guess my main question is how long should spasms (and pain following) last? (I am a female 26yrs old. I have about 2-6 spasms a yr for last 3 years)
