How Long Do Swelling And Bruising In Knee Take To Recover?

I fell when a chair broke that I was sitting on and I injured my knee. I have had xrays and mri and have been told I have a bone bruise. I still have a lot of swelling. How long should it take to get better and what should I do for the swelling? I am 82 years old

I really appreciate your concern, if the knee injury is not serious one because here it is not being given the exact report, then it may heal in couple of week but in case of serious injury it may some time need some surgical management, so this may take more time to come around, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
