How Long Do Swelling And Clots Last In Fractured Arm?

I fracture my humerus two weeks ago and have been in a sling, seemed like it was healing well this week I developed blood clots in that arm. My doctor said to take aspirin. The arm is swollen and painful, how long does it take for the swelling and clots to go away.
